The Terrace guide
Everything Terrace does, step by step, with pictures of the app. Start with Getting started if you're new; every chapter after it stands on its own, so jump to what you need.
How Terrace works, in one minute
A Terrace project holds your civil objects — survey points, surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, sample lines, gradings, pipe networks, parcels and sheets — inside an ordinary drawing. Each object knows what it was made from: a corridor is built from an alignment, a profile, a typical section and a ground surface. Change any of them and everything that depends on it is rebuilt and redrawn by itself, usually in a fraction of a second.
You work in three ways, and can mix them freely:
- The ribbon: one tab per part of the job — Survey, Surfaces, Roads, Grading, Drainage, Parcels, Sheets — plus the drafting tabs. With Terrace Pro, four more tabs: Pro Survey, Pro Design, Pro Analysis and Pro Output.
- The command line: every tool has a command name and short aliases, as in AutoCAD (
CREATEALIGNMENT, CALIGN).
- The panels: the Project browser lists every object, Next step suggests what to do next, and Properties changes any object with plain fields.
Designs follow the DPWH standards by default (or AASHTO), in metric units, and every table can be edited.
