Your projects

Your projects, drawings and survey data stay on your computer. Terrace never sends them anywhere. The only times Terrace uses the internet are the two below.

Looking for updates

Once a day, Terrace reads a small file that says what the newest version is (from Google Cloud Storage, storage.googleapis.com/terrace-downloads). If there is a newer version, it downloads it, checks it, and installs it when you quit. Nothing about you or your work is sent: it is an ordinary download, so Google sees your computer's IP address, as any website would.

To turn this off, uncheck Help › Check for Updates Automatically. To be asked before an update is installed, uncheck Help › Install Updates Automatically.

Terrace Pro's license check

Only with Terrace Pro: when you activate a license, and about once a month after, Terrace sends the license key and an anonymous id of the computer — a scrambled form (SHA-256) of its hardware id, which can't be turned back into the id — to our license service at stats.syncster.dev. The service keeps which computer each key is activated on, so a key is in use on one computer at a time. Removing the license in Help › Terrace Pro… tells the service, so you can use the key on another computer.

Terrace Free never contacts the license service.

This website

This site uses no cookies and no analytics. Its only script opens the Terrace Pro order form. The host, Netlify, keeps ordinary server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages asked for) to run the service.

When you send the Terrace Pro order form, Netlify keeps what you wrote in it (name or firm, email, country, how you'd like to pay, number of licenses, notes) and passes it to us by email and to our sales records, so we can send you the payment request and your license key. We use it for that, for renewals and for answering you — never for advertising, and we don't sell or share it.
